Product Description
The Rhinomed Mute Nasal Dilator for Snoring Reduction is a soft, pliable polymer stent that dilates your nose. Mute increases the volume of air travelling through the nose during sleep, encouraging nasal breathing to alleviate congestion – factors critical to help stop snoring and for a better quality of sleep. Mute has been proven in clinical trials to increase air flow through nasal passages, on average, up to 38% over nasal strips. Made from ultra-soft medical grade bio-compatible polymers conforming to the strictest medical standards, Mute stays in place throughout the night. Mute comes in three different sizes, and each device has individually adjustable left and right stents to further refine the fit. We recommend first buying the assorted size pack, which includes one of each size, to help determine which size offers the best fit for you. Mute nasal dilator units can be reused approximately ten times. FDA registered.

So this is an honest review. I’m not paid, I’m not getting any compensation; I’m just hoping to help someone else. I bought the trial pack for Mute and quickly figured out that the medium was for me. I wore it a while and I’ll be honest (again!) I felt like it bothered me. UNTIL I tried another brand of nasal dilator and oh my word! I wore the other brand for a week just to give it a fair shot and had blisters in my nose that scabbed over during the daytime. I went back to Mute and it was heaven compared to the other brand.
Now having said that: the Mute dilator is not completely comfortable to where you don’t know it’s there BUT it does not cause bleeding or sores and weirdly enough when I went back to it? It seemed to work far better than the other brand that claimed to open passages “58% more.”
So the night I went back to Mute? I slept 8 hrs 26 mins and woke up feeling great. The week prior with the other brand? I barely slept 5 without ripping the thing out and having a blocked left nasal passage for the rest of the night.
So! That’s my honest review. In total I have tried 5 different nasal dilators and out of all of them? I’m sticking with the Mute medium nasal dilator. It’s a pain to put in, it’s a pain to get where your nose wants it to be, BUT it’s the only one so far that I’ve found that keeps my nasal passages open and lets me sleep without a clogged left nasal passage without pain and bleeding. I’ve had sinus surgery and it made things worse after so that’s not an option. The only thing I wish is that they made a variety of each size; such as extra small, small, larger small, small medium, medium, larger medium etc and so on. That way those clips wouldn’t be on there and it would be more comfortable. Hope this helps someone!
I bought the sample pack to see what size would work optimally for me and have tried to use them for several nights. The medium is a bit small and the large is way too big. The Mute however claims to have an adjustable feature allowing you to adjust it to get a better fit and hence a better experience. "Mute’s independent dilation system (adjustable paddles) allows snorers to counteract any asymmetry by personalising the fit of Mute for maximum airway dilation and comfort (from the FAQ found on web page)". "To achieve optimal fit, you may need to expand or contract the paddles by gently pulling or pushing the paddles with your fingers which will activate the ratchet mechanism. (from instructions)".
Unfortunately, the unit I received didn't work as advertised. I adjusted the paddles per instructions to get the fit just right, I needed the medium sized device to be a big larger in both nostrils and then inserted it into my nose. Within seconds the right side didn't stay open while the left side did allowing me to breathe freely out of the left side of my nose but not my right. I removed the device several times to re-adjust it only to see that the ratchet system wasn't holding at all and even the slightest pressure on the paddle caused it to close down to it's minimal size. I submitted a close-up photo so you can see what I am talking about for those of you who might not understand why this is an issue.
Now, if this was a U.S. based company or perhaps one that cared about it's customers, there would be a toll free customer service number printed right on the box or on the instruction sheet or on their website but they don't want to hear from you if you have a problem with their product. Ever notice how virtually every other manufacturer of health related products from band-aids to vitamins, toothbrushes even antiperspirants have a phone number for you to call with questions or comments but not these folks!
So I'm stuck with a defective product that doesn't work as advertised, which may in fact be due to poor design or manufacturing but as I have no way of contacting the company I'll never know. If you do not need to use their patented "independent dilation system (adjustable paddles)" then this product may work well for you and if not I would suggest that you look elsewhere. Make sure you have a way to communicate with the manufacturer or distributor if you have any questions or problems, usually a sign of a business that genuinely cares about it's customers and their satisfaction rather than just moving product.
If you read my other reviews you will find that I am usually very satisfied with the products I have rated.

For the number of usage its very expensive. Recommended usage is for 10 days though i used it for months.
It got teared at the bottom, but not sure on this as i had washed it a couple of times.
But still its expensive even for a normal usage.
