Since COVID-19 hit and changed the course of society a lot of things look different now. At Rose we have shifted to offering telehealth visits in which our clients meet with us via video conference software.
I have had many friends and family members ask what a PT visit looks like with a virtual visit, and I tell them that it is very similar to our in-person visits.
At Rose Physical Therapy having one-on-one treatment sessions lets us focus on getting to know each client and having discussions of what works for each individual. The bread and butter of physical therapy is tailoring each therapy session to that client’s specific needs and creating a home exercise program to help them on their healing journey. As a PT one of my questions when meeting a new client is what their goals are, what does their day to day life look like, and what equipment do they have available to them at home.
During a telehealth session we will ask you questions similar to an in person visit about what things are challenging and what things hurt. Then we might ask you to show us a squat or a lunge or to stand on one leg to assess your balance. Physical therapy is about assessing your functionality and then giving you exercises and tools of how to improve your function.
Being a PT means being able to adapt and customize each experience for every individual to give them the best set of tools to get them back to doing what they love. We know that in the world of work from home, aches and pains have probably started to set in either from moving less or beginning to move more! Either way we are here to help guide you through this period where health and wellness might look a little bit different.
Give us a call and set up an appointment with us and we can always determine if you need to be seen in person.
